Summoning & Sacrificing
Breakdown of Summoning & Sacrificing
SUMMONING At the start of the Opening Phase the player can summon their cards on the Battlefield.
The player can only summon 1 Battle Card per turn, and multiple Utility Cards. Each card can be summoned either face-up or face-down. If the card has been summoned face-down the player must wait one turn for it be able to flip face-up. The summoned Battle Card can attack when the Combat Phase starts. Face-Down Battle Cards, can be used as a defensive option, when either you dont have a powerful card to attack or mislead the opponent. (Face-Down Battle Cards do not negate damage, they receive the same amount of damage as a Face-Up Battle Cards, an example you would do this: "When Trickster is destroyed face-down, target 1 Battle Card on the Battlefield and destroy it") Face-Up Battle Cards is able to attack on Summon Face-Down Utility Cards, can be used as a counter option or mislead the opponent. Face-Up Utility Cards, is instant activation of that card.
Tiers play an important role in Battle Card summoning, each tier has a different summoning/sacrificing mechanic.
SACRIFICING Each card has a different Tier, the Tier defines the cards mechanical and logical design. Sacrificing per Tier: - Tier C = Does not require a card sacrifice - Tier B = Does not require a card sacrifice - Tier A = Requires one card sacrifice - Tier S = Requires two card sacrifices
The Sacrificing Mechanic Before summoning a Tier S Battle Card, the player must have two Battle Cards on the Battlefield to be able to summon the Tier S Battle Card. Upon summoning the Tier S Battle Card, the player must select two Battle Cards on the Battlefield to be sacrificed and destroyed. After the sacrificed cards have been destroyed the Tier S Battle Card is summoned onto the Battlefield
